What is Accessibility?
Accessibility exists to remove any barriers that prevent a person from completing an activity to the same effect as another person. This includes participation in all aspects of everyday life, especially with regards to using products and services and obtaining information.
Sadly, not all websites are accessible. A colour-blind person, for example, will probably struggle to view a site that has been designed in low contrast colours and, similarly, a blind user reliant on a screenreader will struggle to interpret sites that use images to depict text – after all, screenreaders cannot read pictures!
